About the field of study of ‘Workplace and Professional Communication’
Language and communication are part of virtually every job and profession. From doing small every day task (e.g. sending and responding to e-mails, participating in meetings, etc.) to networking with colleagues all
work-related tasks and goals are achieved through different types of talk. Effective communication is at the core of success of both individuals at work or of an organization as a whole. Studying the ways in which people communicate effectively is, therefore, of paramount importance.
